*Trifal is a combination of three herbs - Terminalia chebula (haritaki), Terminalia bellerica (bahera) and Embelica officinalis (amla) - which is referenced in almost every Ayurvedic textbook and is considered adaptogenic. This combination has synergistic action, as well as digestive and mild diuretic properties. Haritaki is rich in tannins, amino acids, succinic acid and beta-sitosterol. Bahera is rich in tannins, and has antihistamatic, antifungal, yeast-inhibiting and choleretic effects. Amla supports the immune system and is one of the richest available sources of Vitamin C. Trifal has bowel-regulating and mild laxative effects, aiding both digestion and elimination.
